In the Baptismal Covenant, you promised to "respect the dignity of every human being." Today, try to give your undivided attention to everyone you meet. How does it feel?
By Bill Cunningham
I grew up privileged but always felt uncomfortable about that, so I never quite fit in with others. In following my own path, I was ‘buked, scorned and disbelieved by others. It really didn’t help that I was a tall white male either! I thank God who opened my eyes through so many others along my way. All people are morally equal before God. We all have equal responsibility to use what we have to the glory of God. Every human being is the object of God’s love. I learned to honor the trust extended to me by others, not for fear of God’s punishment but by God’s transcendent love that flows through all of us if we allow it to animate our lives.
